I only new Ben for a few years but his enthusiasm and positive approach to life made him great to work with and share long journeys. He always had a project on the go or a challenged to prepare for. A great guy who will be sorely missed by all who new him.

In the few short years Ben worked with us at RSK his contribution to our team was invaluable, and the void he leaves behind will be sorely felt by us all. When he was well, the energy and focus with which he took on new and difficult tasks was deeply impressive and that he continued to pursue complex challenges when he became unwell, was simply remarkable. Ben has been an inspiration to me, and I am grateful for the time I was able to spend with him. We had meandering conversations on the importance of family, friends and living life to its fullest, the spirit of adventure and stoicism. The book of Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations he gave to me when we discovered a common interest in philosophy is already well-thumbed and will stay close at hand as a reminder to me of his incredible attitude to living, dying and the good life. One passage that has stuck with me and will always put me in mind of Ben is ‘Not to assume it’s impossible because you find it hard. But to recognize that if it’s humanly possible, you can do it too.’ (6:19)
